The Rainbow Flip-Flop

Why on earth do so many people insist on wearing this ordinary looking tan flip-flop every single day of their lives? Is there a panel of people whose main purpose is to screw around with as many people as possible by coming up with random expensive trends? Bermuda shorts, Vera Bradley bags, wool ponchos, and Uggs just to name a few...But the flip-flop is a different matter altogether. The shoe is comfortable and I have no complaints about the worthiness of the shoe as a product. But why is everyone from the 7th grade girl I work with to one of my professors sporting it? Most importantly though, why am I suddenly desperate to get a pair for myself?
