I still can't believe it and it's been 12 hours

I don't know about you, but I literally couldn't talk for about 30 seconds. All I could do was stare at the screen and watch poor Chris flounder after Ryan so carelessly told him "Lots of people pegged you to be the next American Idol. Well tonight you're going home."

ARGH!!!!!!!!! What is wrong with people???? Who keeps picking up the phone and voting for Taylor Hicks?

So I understand that Chris Daughtry may not have appealed to everyone with his rocker style, but he definitly deserved to make it past the 4th round elimination! If only for the reason that he's a much better performer than Taylor. Taylor has all the lonely grannies at home picking up the phone and voting for the "nice young man with the same color hair as us." Then again, maybe Chris didn't try hard enough and thought that he could sail on through. Taylor and Elliot put their souls into those performances and maybe the grannies had nothing better to do than call in and vote for them.

When the played the "best of" montage of him at the end, Chris just stood there and watched all silent. You know he was standing there and thinking this is bogus and I don't deserve to go home before the gray-haired guy. I don't know that I can watch the next 3 weeks. America can't be trusted. People got complacent and thought that everyone else was voting so they didn't need to. So on a related note, I found this interesting article on Gabling911.com. It almost makes me want to start placing some bets on the remaining contestants.
